I was born in 1982, and live in Poederlee, a village in the north of Belgium.
I'm working as an analyst in the IT department of a Belgian insurance company, but during my weekend and vacations I spend a lot of time on nature photography and birdwatching.
Since 2003, I have been making photos on a regular basis, and I'm particularly interested in nature and wildlife photography. I really enjoy spending time outdoors. I think it's very important that photos are made in a responsible way. This means that I will avoid photos of birds at their nests, photos of animals in captivity or in a zoo, or photos that stress or harm nature. These principles are also formulated in a
code of conduct by the Belgian union for responsible nature phtography (
Bond Verantwoorde NatuurFotografie - BVNF), of which I'm a member.
My favourite places in the neigbourhood are
het Schupleer and
de Lovenhoek in Vorselaar. But also
het Turnhouts vennengebied is a beautiful place.
Once a year, I'm going on
vacation to places that are near perfect for nature photography.
